Sendai aims to secure a pleasant environment in which Citizens of the present and future generations are able to live in a healthy,safe and pleasant manner and pass on the natural features of the"City of Trees" forever more.

On the earth, there are various creatures and substances such as air, soil and water etc. And they construct an ecosystem having complex influence with each other. So it is important to research the way of coexistence having desirable relationship with each other by consideration to nature and cautious activities.

Sendai aims to create the city which is able to progress lively and continuously with a low environmental load by practical use of resources and natural energy, because there are limits to recovery powers of the environment.

Global environmental problems appearing without any certain shapes in short period such as Global Warming and Ozone Layer Depletion etc. are caused by ordinary business activities and daily lives.So it is important for every citizen to make efforts under this understanding everywhere.
