Sendai City received a heart-warming message on March 14th from the Chairman of the Oulu City Council, Chairman of the Oulu City Board and the Mayor of the City of Oulu in their joint names*.

We have received a monetary donation for disaster victims and for Sendai City reconstruction from the City of Oulu on April 28.
Sendai City received messages from Mr. Häyrinen, President of Finpro, on March 18 and April 19.
Sendai City received colorful carp streamers from school children in Karajoki City, which is located in the same province as Oulu city. The carp streamers were given to Sendai through the Izumo Finland Society and Sendai Finland Society. They are flown outside Nakanosakae elementary school in Miyagino ward, one of the worst tsunami afflicted areas.
Finland is kindly offering some of their project rooms at the Sendai Finland Wellbeing Center R&D Unit at Mizunomori, Aoba-ku free of charge (normal service charges apply) to companies who were affected by the earthquake and tsunami that occurred on March 11th.
His Excellency the Ambassador of Finland and Mrs. Jari GUSTAFSSON visited Sendai and went to Nakanosakae elementary school to give carp streamers and Origami crane birds from school children in Finland. His Excellency the Ambassador of Finland and Mrs. Jari GUSTAFSSON also came to Sendai City Hall to meet Vice Mayor Ito and offered assistance towards the reconstruction of the City.
